It’s a community resource dedicated to cataloging modifications to the Citroen Ami EV, focussed on the UK Market in particular.

Why the UK?

In 2021, Citroen announced that the Ami was officially coming to the UK. We have slightly different laws to those in France, which makes the Ami a great platform for modification. Since the Ami doesn’t fit the A1 classification (it’s too heavy) there is no legal basis for the 45km/h limit here. Derestricting it won’t land you in hot water with the authorities here!

Project Goals

Here are a few goals of the Ami Mods project:

1. Increase the top speed to something more usable on UK roads (~45mph).
2. Provide options to increase range and charging capabilities.
3. Improve upon the (basic) safety features.
4. Catalogue resources for DIY aesthetic mods - such as spraying, hydrodipping etc.
5. Provide a one-stop resource for all technical specs, documentation etc that allows other members of the community to continue to think up ideas! This could be anything from dimensions to spare parts specs.

So far this website is closed source while getting set up and the basics in place. It’ll also likely stay this way until the first deliveries start in the UK.
